Round to oval shaped fruit, dark green skin with a slight roughness, and turns into light green or yellow when ripe. With 10 or 12 segments with acid, juicy and aromatic fine grain, pale green pulp without seeds.

The fruit is around 5 to 7 cm (2” and 2.7”) of large and 4 to 5 cm (1.6’’ and 2’’) diameter and weight may vary between 50 g and 100 g.

HOW TO EAT

It is considered to be mature or ready for consumption when it is easy to squeeze the juice.

Fresh, in juices, jams, desserts, sauces, cocktails and ice cream.

HOW TO STORE

In cool place, about 8°C (46.4 F) Relative Humidity of 90%, free of odors and moisture. Do not expose to the sun or to very hot or very cold temperatures.

This fruit can last many days, due to its hard skin.

LIFESPAN

Following the storage recommendations, around 40 days or more.

GENERAL QUALITY CHARACTERISTICS

The fruit must have the following characteristics:

Be entirely complete

Have its characteristic round-oval form.

Be healthy, free from insect attacks and/or diseases that compromised the internal quality of the fruit.

Free of damage caused by excessive handling or improper packaging during the transport or storage (severe scratches, moisture, openings).

Free of any different smell and/or taste (from other products, packages or containers and/or agrichemicals with which they have been in contact).

Fresh and consistent

Free of strange material (dirt, dust, chemicals and strange bodies) visible on the product or its packaging.

Is received when:

It satisfies  the above characteristics

It´s tolerated only 5% of damage mentioned above, except fungus or other disease in any area of the fruit.

It´s tolerate 25% slight defects in color caused by the shade produced by the contact between fruits on the tree.

Is rejected when:

Damages are presented in more than 15% of the whole fruit area.

According to customer and/or carrier specifications, boxes are arranged in wooden pallets:

Boxes of 18.5 kg/40 lb: 1280 per container. Around 23.7 ton.

Boxes of 4.5 kg/10 lb: 5040 per container. Around 22.7 ton.
